About Gilini Foundation
Gilini Foundation is a small independent charitable foundation established with the support of our sole benefactor, Bassam Gilini.
We use our resources to support people, communities and organisations with the potential to build something worthwhile.
Our size shapes how we work. We cannot fund everything that deserves support, and we do not pretend that our contribution alone creates the change we see. The people and organisations we support bring the ideas, expertise, commitment and hard work.
Our role is to recognise potential and, where we can, provide the support that helps it go further.
Our founder and sole benefactor
Bassam Gilini is a British entrepreneur and the founder and sole benefactor of Gilini Foundation.
His own experience of building businesses has shaped the Foundation’s interest in enterprise, opportunity and the importance of backing capable people at the right moment.
Christian faith is an important part of Bassam’s life and of the story behind the Foundation. This is reflected in our support for churches and Christian organisations working to strengthen their communities and create opportunities for others.
Bassam established the Foundation as a way of putting some of the resources created through his business career to purposeful use. He remains closely involved in its direction, working alongside the Foundation’s trustees and team.
The Foundation reflects these two strands – faith and opportunity – through our Gifting Faith and Granting Futures programmes.
